Description: RainBow Gate is a 6.5x8x4.5m sculptural stainless steel pavilion designed by Tonkin Liu architects for Burnley Borough Council.
The pavilion is made up of thin steel profiles, curved and twisted over wooden formers and seam-welded to form rigid three dimensional structures. The roof holds 133 glass prisms, which create rainbows on the ground beneath when the sun shines.

SmallProjects undertook the fabrication design, project management and installation management for Mike Smith Studio, who made the pavilion.
